DIGGING ACTIONS

Guido Dettoni, experiences and proposes the digging as a sculptural practice connecting with the earth.

Digging, in a chosen place, into the soil.

He kneels to bend the body forward to penetrate with his hands into the soil made up of earth. He lets the hands discover in it his own visions and memories, or what is already there: the known or unknown but only sensed, memory of the place itself.

The earth shape is hardened or wrapped with bandages to be conserved or to become the original model of a mold for casting.
