TRANSMUTATIONS

In the practice of art, one or more tangible volumes, especially those created by hands with the malleable matter they contained, can become digital images corresponding to one or more points of view. Their assembly and edition, by means chosen by the artist, give rise to a Transmutation.

The same tangible volumes can also become (3D) volumes whose assembly and interlocking give rise to a transmutation that becomes a newly tangible volume by means of 3D printing.

The transmutations, created by Guido Dettoni, may also initiate from the HANDSMATTER collective creative process. Several authors gather to witness with their hands a proposed theme shaping handheld malleable matter with eyes closed. The images of their shapes, or the shapes themselves, are the origin of the transmutation.
