MATER LACTEA

HANDSMATTER

HANDSMATTER experiences with mothers in the breastfeeding stage together with their infants and often with the father, took place in various cities in Catalonia, Spain.

Gathered in groups, blindfolded, the mothers mold wax and create shapes that, as they look at them, stimulate the imagination and evocative descriptions in words that generate poems and songs to enrich the language of breastfeeding.

The Innocenti Declaration UNICEF a conceptual reference of this whole proposal.

Through these creative experiences and contact with the transcendence of maternal breastfeeding, Guido Dettoni created the iconic sculpture, MATER LACTEA.
