MATER TERRA
By extracting with his own hands a piece of earth from the soil, Guido Dettoni has shaped this sculpture as a unity divided in two half parts, each one being a mirror reflection of the other one. The hands which join forming the unity and initiate the process: hands – mind – word.
MATER TERRA CIRCLE
The MATER TERRA circle is for children to comprehend beyon words and to experiment when playing with the body as in a dance.
While playing in each one of the mirrored enlarged halves. they comprehend at the same time the process leading to unity.

The earth grows, exhales in your body,
the earth skin opens up to a new beating;
you feel it: it is an echo of yourself,
of the heart.
The light embraces you,
your life is a cradle,
and you stretch out your hands
and receive
the water of time
pouring out
and you become
the mother, the world
emerging.
An ancient tenderness is born within you.
